Why golfers come to the Valley of the Sun

The Scottsdale and greater Phoenix area is one of the most concentrated golf destinations in the United States, with a large number of public, resort, and desert-style courses within a short drive of one another. The combination of reliable sunshine, dramatic Sonoran Desert scenery, and a deep bench of well-regarded layouts makes it a magnet for golf trips of every kind — from buddies’ weekends to family getaways.

Paradise Valley sits between Scottsdale and Phoenix, backed by Camelback Mountain, and tends to be the more residential, resort-oriented pocket of the region. Seasons at a glance

Peak season runs roughly late October through April, when temperatures are ideal and courses are busiest and priciest.
